For this fun and creative gift, I start with a regulation Rawlings baseball.
I take off the cover and embroider it with your choice of one or two words on the long sections of the ball and then up to four baseball motifs or other small additions on the other four embroiderable areas.
For the names, you will probably want a first name or monogram
For the other name, you may want a team name, the name of an occasion, or championship.
The four extra embroidery spots can have any combination of baseball pictures, a year -- anything that is small enough to fit.
You may choose your embroidery font and thread color to match team colors or any special needs. The most popular font is the athletic block which is shown in the example with the name "Eddie"
After embroidery, I carefully lace the ball back up with your choice of lace color or colors. I can use one color or two colors.
